Forg Do iPD still sell it? I went looking just to see how it compared to the AU$200 that a new rack costs, and (a) was shocked that a new rack now costs closer to AU$800 and (b) couldn’t see a rebuild kit.

I have the greenbook on how to do it that I can share
carnut222 Stoonly I'm a bit surprised if an 89 240 has a ZF rack…I thought most of the later cars had CAM. Might be worth posting a pic or maybe it's been swapped out before? I guess Volvo did mix and match parts from various suppliers so of course it could be a ZF.
VolvoHordz I have no experience with the particular kit but https://classic-volvo.com/power-steering-rack-repair-set-zf-240-260-740-940-960-850-zf-1272984-1329694.html
Stoonly Thanks Guys, I'll have another look, good to know there is a kit for a ZF though! Any know a quick reference to look for on a cam, ZF or TRW rack, I think I read ZF have banjo chose connections or the other way around?
Stoonly Back on the tools today, so I have a TRW, thanks Jamesinc and ramrod, cant find a kit for it though, any ideas?
jamesinc Stoonly This is the one: https://www.ipdusa.com/products/22066/Steering-Rack-Seal-and-Bushing-Kit-MTC-VR582-Volvo-271570 The only thing the kit doesn't include for a TRW rack is the piston seal/energiser that sits in the middle of the piston. The other parts fit both the CAM and TRW racks. I would just leave the piston seal/energiser alone when you rebuild the rack, it probably doesn't need replacing. TRW purchased Cam Gears Ltd at some point, this is why some racks have TRW branding.
VolvoHordz jamesinc I did wonder how similar they were because my eye balls said very similar. Well now a falla knows.
Stoonly Thanks Jamesinc, that's great, I did look at that kit from IPD but in there description it initially says cams only so didn't read all the way down where it then says 88> TRW, good to know!
