Hey I’ve got an 2011 xc d5

I’ve left key on over night and concerned it went flat

So charged battery and now

Nothing no starter working

No radio

No fan/air con

Any ideas just had racq come out and want to replace starter motor

RACQ wants to change the starter motor

I think I’ve heard just about everything at this point

All Fixed now

Disconnected battery charged up perfectly

Reconnected everything and away I went

So you'll be cancelling your RACQ membership then?

I could think of many better ways to spend money

ramrod The best reason to have NRMA, RAC* etc membership is due to the fact that you can't fit a tow truck in your toolbox (which a mechanic friend pointed out to me years ago).

Exakerey, last week the 240 stopped , $120 flat tow that took about 10 mins to the guy that does my work at his home ( couldnt leave it by the roadside and he wasnt home at time and new part was hidden at Marks in the 264 boot!) so i spent$ 120 odd on RACV just for the tow , never let them near my vehicles otherwise afte her S80D5 needed a battery and the idiot put one too big in and she daid he had a hammer onto something there , broke the plastic cover (=$$) which they replaced…..Second guy came to put in proper battery and i was there , he faffed arond till i got shirty and said just get it done.

Eejits , eejits all of them….

*240 now needs a pump and or fuel electricals part and its sat at work so RACV can shift it , its paid off already!

Except that usually my long distance travelling includes a caravan, and they're all useless at recovering those for you at the same time. I'm hanging onto the older models because there's a good chance I can repair it without needing the towtruck. Because mine is a company vehicle, I have NRMA membership, but on the 2 occasions in 20 years I've called them they have been less than helpful, and next to useless.
