3D print opportunity for 240 dash centre cover

240 dashes 1981-93 have a plastic grille dead centre, with a bit of sound insulation underneath.

Its the plastic grill that would be worth reproducing, cardboard underneath is irrelevant. (Not sure why the cover is even there unless its a speaker hole tor some markets).

If anyone has been there or is looking for a project, put me down for a plastic cover.

Look at my words on 3D prints , a door speaker frame . $140 odd for two printed in proper full fill print that withstands heat. You will be better off buyin stainless mesh or perforated sheet steel. 3D printing is a scam , its not really but it costs for the material you need for said purpose. Itried to but 10 pairs for all you guys for$ 120 , look what happened….

Get your own setup , buy all the filament , ofeer us cheap stuff…..

Not desperate, just noticing each time I touch it another bit of the matrix cracks off.
I just like the plastic cover because it looks right in the scheme of things, and importantly to me weighs near nothing.

GCP used to have them, but don't any more - I ordered about 5 of them a few years ago.

Thanks Ledfoot, thats the part for sure, amazes me they’re still available. Even mentions for a centre speaker, so thats confirmed as well.

Anthony These parts actually carried over from the 73 140/164 dashboard (which is what I got mine for), and my 73 had a speaker for the AM radio behind it. One dashboard I salvaged from a 91 240 didn't have this speaker hole.

Major Ledfoot yeah I have seen the same, seems that about 91ish they stopped putting the speaker hole in the dash.

I put a speaker under mine! A dual coil RetroSound 4x8, it fits perfectly
