Hi everyone, I unfortunately haven't spent as much time hanging around OzVolvo as I had hoped to, but things have changed such that I'm offering this '98 V70 T5 for sale.
This is the car from 'Damo's first ever v70 t5 build thread'; I bought it from Damo with the expectation that I'd be moving back to Australia permanently after some years OS. Unfortunately my (Canadian) wife's dad has taken a turn for the worse, so we've made the decision to return to Canada for the time being. As such the alternatives are storing it for an indeterminate length of time or, hopefully, it can find a new home with someone that will enjoy it.
Car is currently located in Melbourne's inner eastern suburbs with 226,034 kms on the odometer, however it's being driven on short local trips regularly so the mileage will increase slightly over time. (I'll update after any significant increase.)
Work that was completed in the above mentioned thread:
New fuel filter
New fuel pump
New fuel pump relay
OBX 3” downpipe, 3” high-flow cat, resonator and single rear muffler
Snabb reverse induction piping (RIP) kit
Distributor cap and rotor, ignition cables
Spark plugs
Camshaft position sensor
ITG air filter
Sachs shocks front and rear
H&R springs front and rear
Spring seats/strut mounts/bump stop assemblies
DVS strut tower brace
Since then I've had the following work completed/parts installed:
Hussla 030 Gold 18x7.5 wheels w/Continental ContiSportContact 5 tyres (original 16” ‘Columba’ wheels included, will deduct $1,500 if buyer wants original wheels/tyres only)
Sony AX3200 head unit w/Apple CarPlay & Android Auto (original head unit included)
Quad Lock Wireless Apple CarPlay Adapter (will deduct $100 if buyer doesn't want adapter)
New turbo vacuum pipes
New ABS/TRACS module
Crank angle sensor
New rear brake pads and rotors
New radiator/thermostat
New heater core
New cabin filter
P80 S/V70 R interior trim
Re-covered interior roof liner/front armrest
IPD short ram intake (not yet installed)
New battery in September 2023
Front brakes are OK for now but will need replacing before too long. I haven’t done this as it’s a popular performance upgrade (particularly with the added room of the 18” rims allowing bigger rotors) .
It could use a paint correction if new owner is so inclined, however I personally quite like the scruffy paint/shiny rims look, but YMMV. Similarly, interior rattles as one would expect over rough surfaces, particularly with the 18s as opposed to the original 16s. (Again I'm happy to deduct the aftermarket rims as they're not to everyone's taste, and I could hang on to them for a future project.)
Vehicle could use a dyno tune to dial in the fuelling to account for the aftermarket exhaust, and to address a sporadic stalling issue, again as referenced in Damo's thread.
Asking $16,500, or $15,000 with original wheels only. Reasonable offers will be considered, and am happy to assist with transport at buyer's expense.
Thanks for reading.
