rado So , I've been holding off posting this to see how it goes but I went to the car and nada ... Couple of months ago I bought a new battery ( battery world $300 ) and that hasn’t cured the problem . The problem , the car or should I say battery is draining in about 2 to 3 days as in dead dead . I also bought a charger pack so I can start the car . Any suggestions fellas ? Alternator maybe ? It's starting to do my head in now 🙃 hmmm
Ex850R Are the door marker red lights off when doors closed? I noticed red glow form a V70 sat in dark , it too was losing battery. Door microswitch go bad. Disconnect the lights. Don't know if switch is in door latch and new unit needed. Alarm? Volvo alarms go bad and do this, reef that junk out. Headlight harness melt in the housing, may cause it. Headlight wipers, same. Ignition switch somehow?
ramrod Do you have a multimeter? Measure the millivolts at the battery, (charged of course) Whilst you have someone remove the fuses. When you see a change in the voltage, therein lies the problem
rado Cheers fallas for the suggestions , I was hoping for this kinda thing . Haven't noticed any red glow as in the door lights , thinking glovebox light maybe . I have a multimeter somewhere , I'll dig it out later .
TL_V70 If you don't have a multi meter handy just use a test light. Here is an example and just pull fuses till it turns off. Check all lights in the doors and the glove box. Stereo systems are also another good place to start. Make sure your amp isn't staying on. Disconnect the remote wire from the amp or see if it has power there with the car off. If using the test light method DONT I turn on your headlight on or try and start the car it won't like it. And you need a test light with a 12v globe not a LED test light. https://batterymanguide.com/how-to-check-for-a-draw-on-a-car-battery-with-a-test-light/
rado I recon I've sussed it . The button on the glove light was in too far Pulled the glovebox out and adjusted the bit , see how it goes, cheers fellas
hamsandwich Hope the glovebox light fixes it, mine was also bad as was my rear drivers side red door marker, to check with the door open use a screwdriver to close the door latch, while keeping the door open, if light stays on its bad, I just pulled bulb instead of fixing.
TL_V70 I hope u had a Win Stevo if not I am always a phone call away and happy to help or advise you how to check/ test And I need an excuse to get away down south after moving house lol. I AM DONE.
rado How'd you get on with the move mate ? We're 95% done ourselves down here . Bloody cold down this way
rado What I did do also was once I fixed the button in the glovebox I tested it a couple times with the glovebox open , lock the car then pull the fuse out then back in and the hazards would flash . This is what happens when I've gone to the car a couple of days without driving and the battery is flat and put the jumper pack on to start it , the hazards flash . Hope that makes sense
