How many km on that oil?

Quality Volvo Redblock blend!

The engine had a complete overhaul about 1000kms before it blew fresh oil and filters plus new timing belts and pulleys etc etc so wasn't that old

If anyone is interested here is my YouTube channel where I will be doing monthly episodes of my 740 build,

There is already two episodes up from when I got the wagon to Sydney and where ive gotten the engine out.

Have been quiet these last couple months but making slow progress with the engine, all the gaskets are nearly done, most of the pulleys etc are installed, engine has been cleaned and painted in most areas, fresh distributer, fresh leads and spark plugs, new nuts and bolts throughout the whole engine,

Still have a lot to do but any progress is better then no progress, hopefully next few weeks with have the exhaust manifold made so i can fit the holset and the wastegate then the new inlet manifold should be made from my work an i can install that aswell.

Nice artistic pics! Great lighting or something!

For anyone that is interested heres another video,

its a slow progress but itll get there eventually and in this video i give a run down on some things that are happening.

2 months later

starting to clean the engine bay sorted, ive separated the wiring harness and eliminated some wiring and hoses that is not needed an have painted the front section behind where the headlights go,

now going to weld up all the wholes and possibly try get the wheel tubs a bit rounder and smoother, then to hopefully have engine bay completely painted in black.

This will give you an idea on what colour combination i will be going for the rest of the wagon ( stock inlet manifold is not staying ) have a new inlet manifold coming.

Kool!

Is it Arabic or Indian influence on the gold design?

It's neither I used a lace curtain from local spotlight,

Just a design I liked so painted it to make it look a bit different

Sat the engine in the car so I can mock up where the exhaust manifold and new inlet will sit, plenty of room lucky enough

I have also put the car on stands so can see what travel I have for the diff an how much I have to tub it to have it sit where I'm happy with

Nearly completely stripped out the rear which will all be cut out so I can make new wheel tubs as well as going to be running a new chassis from a hilux so I can run a four link and possibly Watts link for air suspension

2000 hilux hilux rear section of chassis is what I will be modifying to fit under the rear of the wagon

That's fairly ambitious... Are you planning on getting it registered? Probably worth talking to an engineer before you take an angle grinder to the rear end.

At this point I'm using the chassis but not 100% depends on if I can get it to a low enough point I'm happy with and I've already been taking to an engineerer throughout the build so everything that is getting done is done with an engineerer knowing every step
