I have had an aussi locka in my 740t with a built Auto for going on three years and 70,000km. Not damaged anything and I have my car on a hoist every 5000km for servicing. I run grippy tyres and make 136rwkw and have no issues. Its not quite as heavily sprung as a spartan from everything I've read. And auto does make a difference in my experience against the Detroit lockers I feel in trucks that I work on too. They are very harsh but they do unlock which is better than welded...
Good lsds with regular maintenance don't go single. Yes the clutch packs wear. But usually commodore driving bogans will say they suck because they die when they do too many burnouts on thier mums driveway. Everyone else uses lsds fine. Drift cars included.
Volvo used the dana 30/35 before jeep really did in most vehicles too.
