Marvelous things to hear, lets hope after 30 years everything holds up chassis/structure wise to my driving :D
The summit racing website is a bit confusing as it says "carrier: detroit locker." Then in the description it states planetary helix gears. Is helical and torsen basically the same thing? An open diff that allows 2 wheels to spin only when traction is broken and wheels are slipping? I suppose this is most suited to maximum grip driving for neutral steering.
My mech friend does not like helical as he says they never fully lock and reckons they are "unpredictable", only marginally better than open. But he is rather opinionated and biased IMO lol.

I read the long version first, then the simple explanation and the light bulb finally turned on. Now I understand the common "ratchet and socket" example usually given.
So then it really comes down to Locking (more oversteer) vs LSD (more refined, neutral) which then begs the ultimate question, what sort of purpose is the car used for and driving characteristic you want it to exhibit?
I feel like the slow kid in class and everyone waiting for him to catch up so thank you for your patience >:D<
Now I need to get out and try each to apply all this info!
