Exactly right. Not much more you can do. I'll be cutting it fine from a timeframe point of view as the VE will go away for a couple of weeks to have the bodywork done.

I've never had luck booking vicroads less than a week in advance myself.

Rego and Vicroads inspection scheduled for 18th of June.
That means the VE bodywork waits until July (which probably means I had time to do a manual swap. lol.)

Thanks for the offer @azzrock, but it has a replacement trans in it now so it'll stay an auto. This car will need a new home later in the year to make some space for another platform, so I dont fancy doing a transmission swap on it at this point now.

Did all of my usual running around in it today. I have a couple of tiny niggles to work out.

* Slight clunk/groan from LH strut - will recheck and tighten everything
* 50c piece sized drip of coolant after it has been running and has cooled down, from near the back of the engine - will put it up on the hoist and take a look. Possibly turbo/coolant hoses. Will replace them first if I cant work it out and then check again.
* Plastic rattle in the cargo area is very annoying - it isn't tailgate. Will check the cargo blinds that extend from the seat backs.

It's fairly quick, handles well - 23mm soild rear bar is good. Brakes are very good (slight pad squeal initially but went away with a couple of hard stops).

Next up:
* drivers door REALLY needs a cut and polish. Its the door that was swapped over. in certain light the colour doesnt quite look the same and it has quite a few small scratches (but no major dents).
* Steering wheel swapover
* coil
* exhaust
* fuel rail
* injectors
* ECU

Next on the list is to resolve the little turbo coolant leak which is a small 'puddle' after the weekend of being away and not being driven.

I'll pop it up on the hoist when I have a chance but I've got everything I should need to sort it on its way.
Both little coolant hoses (the silicone one up the top which isnt leaking) and the lower one (PITA to get at on your back) as well as braided replacement lines with decent banjo fittings.

With that done, I can get back to fun stuff, though my wallet hasnt fully recovered from registration!

Here's the last pic I took before I defaced the front bar by drilling holes in it for a number plate. ;)

I wonder if it is a product of the shape of the panels having slightly different colours as the light hits them? I notice it on my maroon but more so on the two silver ones I had.

I'd say just lighting in this photo. The whole LHS is new paint (done in May last year).
On the RHS, the upper RR door is new paint, and the RF guard and RF door came from the same donor vehicle (2000 S70. same colour) while the RR quarter and lower RR door is original paint.

I haven't done anything else on the list since my last post as I'm waiting for turbo coolant lines and hoses to arrive, though I did drive it out to dinner last night. The more I drive it the more I think that, aside from the obvious gripes about a lack of steering lock and cup holders, I could live with it everyday quite happily.

I'll spend some time on it next weekend, diagnose the clunk a bit further and get the coolant leak sorted.
The Federal 595EVO is surprisingly grippy, if a little noisier than I'd like.
So far so good and I think I'll bring it to the Ozvolvo rally later in the year.

Turbo coolant lines and the short hoses arrived today - I'll see if I can get some time to replace them over the weekend.
I drove it in to the office today too, just trying to put a few kms on it to ensure it's happy and reliable.

I've been driving the V70 in to the office a day or two a week lately and a little bit of driving around (when child seat is not required) on weekends but havent dont much longer distance stuff with it yet.
It's quite good, getting better to drive in traffic, etc.

I had it up on the hoist last weekend, the coolant leak is not from the turbo coolant lines but rather is at the connector where coolant lines go through the firewall and into the heater core in the cabin.
Coolant had been dripping (overnight) from there, down the inside of the heatsheild (between it and the firewall) and onto the lines to/from the turbo before hitting the floor.

I'll sort that out in the next week or so - I'm keen to put some long distance kms on it before the Gerringong meet at the end of September.

When I get a chance too, I'll cut and polish the drivers door and swap the steering wheel over.
