We had another huge day on it today and didnt get to make it to the Geelong Revival (I'll get out for a look tomorrow).
Today, we got the following done -
* New serpentine belt
* New coolant reservoir and cap
* New coolant reservoir hoses
* New radiator
* New radiator hoses
* New clamps, o rings and seals for trans cooler and oil cooler.
* New driveshaft seals on both sides
* New tie rod ends
* New swaybar links
* New inner and outer CV boots on both sides
* Rebuilt one of the shafts from scratch - in hindsight, I should have bought a reco shaft (or a pair)
* Fitted a RIP kit (Genuine Volvo)
* Cleaned the intercooler
Everything we touched or reassembled has new fasteners.
The H&R spring set drops the ride height about 35mm. The ride is firm but quite good. I've got the front shocks set quite softly (adjustment is on setting 2 out of 8)
The car needs a proper wheel alignment, a tailgate repair kit and maybe an upper trans cooler hose, but other than that, it is ready for RWC and to register.
I have to put the radiator splash guard back on too - I couldnt find the bolts for it tonight and neither of us felt like looking for them particularly hard.
I might buy a new guard and fit that instead.
This week, two of us have spent 18 hours each working on the thing. I'm happy to not touch cars for a few days now.
Myself, when I haven't been working on this, I've been working on getting the VE ready for RWC.
Here's some pics -
The one above is just because I like pimping the brake conversion. :)
The engine bay looks much cleaner with the RIP kit fitted.
Back on it's wheels.
