Tonight we did the final fitting of the brake conversion using the 'final' fasteners that are need to make it all fit together.
Lower hole in the caliper hanger drilled out to 12mm (essentially just to get rid of the threads) and countersunk to suit a M12x1.75 25mm long countersunk (therefore length is measured to the top of the head) cap screw.
The head sits just proud of the surface and the cap screw is loctite-ed in place.
Adaptor and hanger fitted just for a visual. Rotor must be fitted first.
On the RH side, once fitted the branding is not visible (cost of branding would have increased dramatically to have them 'sided')
Adaptor and hanger removed, rotor fitted, adaptor and hanger refitted.
Caliper loaded, and fully fitted. New Genuine Volvo Anti-rattle springs, Project Mu NS400 pads and HEL braided brake lines with carbon coloured sheath.
LH side, with branding visible on the adaptor.
That's it for now.
Tomorrow night is fit rear brake lines, bleed brakes, replace engine mounts and maybe get the LHS CV boots done.
