It is magically well balanced. If only the electrics were less dutch I would probably still have mine. Last I heard it was being drifted pretty regularly.

360's are also pretty good little tow cars; short rear overhang and a 2.0 engine; just no weight to counter the trailer....

Is this a reasonable asking price? If not, what would be sensible, if it's as good as it looks in the pictures?

Looks like they want to bring the average pricr up more than actually to sell it. 4500 is a reasonable price in that condition.

thanks - wasn't sure how to benchmark the higher spec models in good nick. it's a lovely looking motor, but $8k is a lot of pennies!

50/50 weight balance means magical handling...

That wagon is a 2 year old version of mine
Same colour
Just auto/slower/NA/uglier/etc...

so whaddya reckon it's worth in auto? Redbook is not particularly instructional with older cars, as condition and history is so important!

Holy shiznit 8,200?! Are the floor mats made of compressed cocaine?
The only search that means anything in the end of the day is a PPSR search - check if its stolen or written off
Take everything else on a case by case basis, you could easily pick up a clean auto wags for under 4 Grand and have plenty of green left for a serious clean up and manual swap... Heck you could even do a Ford T5 gearbox swap for that kind of money if you wanted a little more dependability

Yeah I saw that one - nearer the opposite end of the spectrum. It looks pretty knackered! Needs new seats, quite a bit of bodywork, electricals and clearly some suspension. Would be a good project car though :)
Unfortunately I logistically can't make that one work. Heading to Europe for 5 weeks on Saturday, so buying shenanigans are on hold (unless something ideal pops up in Victoria, which I could probably still make work remotely)

We should talk.
My '88 240 wagon 5 speed is coming back from the panel shop on Friday. I am thinking of a new home for it, maybe. It has been in the family since new and there is a swag of spares and special bits. Loads of money in it, new suspension, GLE gauges, and other bits I cannot think of. It is already on club plates, so if a member of VCoV then it is an easy transfer. The only problem was it looked daggy, though that will be fixed by next week with new paint.
John at Voldat knows the car, he looks after it when it needs work. It is not a fancy one, though it is super reliable, and a 5 speed :-)
Cheers, Dan

Hi @dmc
Ok, this sounds promising! I'm a big fan of the GLE gauges (that was a plan for when i get one, along with a few other bits and pieces).
Do you have any pictures of this fabulous beast?
cheers,
Rico

For nostalgia's sake, I finally found some pictures of my old 240GL. She (Agnetha) was my pride and joy!

i can see your plan Rico. Sorry has been a busy week. next week i promise!

So - I've found a manual wagon. This is the good news! The bad news is that it doesn't drive, so would need to be trailered, and it's up in country Victoria.
I can't escape from work this work, and I expect it'll have gone by the end of the week. So if anyone can trailer a car from the arse end of nowhere to Melbourne, there's a significant service fee in it for you!
Any other bright ideas gratefully received!
markc88
Cheaper than from Perth :-)
egads (she/her)
Pay storage money to the seller so you can keep it there til you can pick it up.
lasercowboy
Normally an excellent plan, but it seems that the seller just wants it gone... (He said the first there with the cash can take it, which never fills me with confidence)

Damn, where in Vic is it? Perhaps @Angus242164 is nearby?
