Makes sense. On a couple of occasions where I've heard there was a T5R for sale and started to get excited, I found out the car was a black one and didnt pursue it.

Summary 1995 T-5R - Referring to the first post chart and the Volvo internal mag - Global - it seems approx 27-28 in yellow arrived and approx 14 in stone-black plus 1 olive green. came to Australia.

Seems the stone-blacks were imported in batches during 1995, whereas the yellows likely all came in very early in 1995.

The challenge continues to find 27 or 28 yellows, when we only know of about 17 to date .

What's the attrition rate after 20 years though? The average annual attrition rate is 4.42%. I expect that this will be lower for the T5-R as its rarity would have been well-recognised by owners for at least 10 years now, but some will still have been lost in accidents. If a T5-R was totalled in 1997 I don't think we'll ever track down any information about it.

To track them down you would need a well connected set of insurance dudes. Maybe if you got Shannons or Just Car or Lumleys interested they could work some contacts to get better historical numbers.

Yep it's bloody stupid, last few years sooo many have been scrapped for no good reason apart from they are worth double in parts than whole when only requiring a very small amount of work, diy mechanic stuff nothing major to make them road worthy, however the market has changed and now and are worth decent money again thanks to their growing rarity.

Yesterday I saw a white T5 sedan on Titans and for a second I thought it was a rare white T5R, then I realised how silly I was haha!

That one is really neat. I've seen it around geelong a few times. R/T5R front bar, titans, slightly lower than you'd expect from a T5.
It's a MY94 car though as it has the earlier style tail lights.
No idea who the owner is though, but every time I've seen it, it's been super clean.

As of last year in the UK there are by search with the DVLA of the 850 T5R, on the road in England 129, this includes auto and manual

And my black T5R is in Tamworth NSW with a blown motor, its first rego in NSW was MOBIL1 when I had it the rego was BLKT5R.

This was at the volvo vic Federation Square display a few weeks ago.

Spotted yellow T5R in Brisbane, north side near Redcliffe,
QLD plate 788 R.... Met owner Benn and took photos. Owned it a year, has genuine Volvo rec engine, updated intercooler plumbing (centre top mount input over engine), different clutch slave cylinder actuation, paint refresh, attractive presentation.
Originally sold by Brisbane Volvo dealer Albion Car Centre in April 1995.

Also known in Brisbane north side, at North Lakes is a black T5R.

So another 2 to the list that I don't think is previously noted.
