Righto!
Picked the 240 up this arvo, Is it a 260 now?
Trufit did a pretty good job of welding onto the manifold - Garry said he had it on & off the car about 5 times to get angles right.
First impressions driving around for extended periods of time:
Idle sounds tough as fuck
Induction noise is fresh
Throttle response is wayyy faster than I was expecting (in park or neutral)
The solid mounts arent as bad as I thought they were going to be but still very buzzy
6 cyl autos sound trash without proper muffling - it has 1 stock resonator & cat, therefore trash
Converter still feels lazy at low rpm
I think I'd like a more civilized diff - the spartan works, but its pretty agricultural
Noticed id missed the small 4mm vac nipple on the flametrap, fixed that and went about looking for rattles and leaks.
No leaks, HEAPS of rattles - mainly bumper of all things & some looseish switches in my dash.
I think its in low power mode/some form of limp mode as its peppy, but noy breath taking.
Trans goes through all gears and lockup.
Still need to find some O2 sensors for it, empty out 12 months of it being a storage unit, wash it, tidy wiring & mount computers, mount battery & amps, under tray, fit recaros... Etc etc etc.
Ive only just gotten it running with the 6 & im already lusting for a 5... Even a friggin 10v would do <3
Really need this to be a reliable daily for a good while till I finish uni again next semester.
The sixes represent such great power potential and smoothness in pretty much stock form than the 5s and 4s do permitting simpleish upgraded like rods and injectors, but the 5s have just that more soul & character to them.
This car will not stay 6 cylinder powered.
Ill eventually build up a 5 for it, wire it up outside of the car, standalone ems the bitch.
I will sell this engine, manifolds, mounts (or make up some new ones) computers & driveshaft to suit a near 100% swap to someone in the future. This car is destined to be a 5, and it will be.
This is the 4th motor/trans combo that's been in her, I've enjoyed all of them so far

Thanks again to John Johnson & Mark Richardson for their ongoing tolerance & support. Doing this at the workshop with parts, green books & endless knowledge to bounce ideas off & problem solve makes me a pretty lucky guy.
If you do this yourself for similar costings as myself, expect to spend about $2-3k
