Here she is! My beautiful red 92 240 sedan that I now have on club plates,

Ive started improving handling by fitting a 79 242 GT 23mm rear sway bar, a 97 27mm Ford EL Front Swaybar, Ive aquired a Zender foam spoiler and a couple of other goodies :)

(Not fitted and drilled yet)

In with the new...ish @smithy

Next up is to sort out my swaybars, The rear bolted up no issue, however the front im finding the front is impacting on the hard brake lines mounted to the side of the wheel well, Ive already bent it out of the way, but it keeps hitting no matter how much mechanical persuasion I give it.

I will eventually be running some of Ash's DVS Lowering springs, would a set of adjustable swaybar links help?

So Ive started experiencing a strange problem with the 240, as im driving along - rarely (about 3 times a week) Ill hear a very loud BANG sound coming from my shifter (auto)
Ill also see the shifter lurch in its place violently and continue going as normal

It has no effect on driving at the time
its as if someones hit my gearbox with a stake driving mallet
It has happened going over train lines and nasty bumps in the road
Tranny mounts? Driveshaft?!?

Also my windsheild makes popping sounds in the sun (no cracks), like that of someone flicking it with a plastic pen lid, about every hour in warm weather
Not sure on the second one, sounds like incorrect installation.

The first one can be the shifter isn't in D properly. Push it forwards and back to make sure it's there and see if it still does it.
Driveshaft centre bearing/carrier?

Stop and have a look on the roof , there is probably a wee man on the roof with a pen....
Ill check out the bearings tomorow @Ex850R‌ , dont 100% know what im looking for
I guess any play or movement is a bad thing

It is strange, and quite violent :S
Im thinking of converting the interior to black if @iceton1975‌ has the goods, anyone done any funky things to their headliners? The hard plastic is kinda nasty, was thinking of padding it and going black
The problem:

Every time I bent it back, itd hit again 10 minutes later.

This is how I fixed the issue:

Larger bracket bolt & 3 Nice zinc spacers

Glue thoes Mofo's together for easier handling (The Zinc washers)

Finished product:

The extra 1cm of clearence was all I needed, I did both sides to be sure.

Not sure how helpful it will be when the car is lowered... But it hasnt hit in the past 3 weeks!
Did a little painting...

Next up!

I have an oil pressure gauge setup coming from TB!

That red paint looks really nice in the flesh. After hearing your plans for the car I am looking forward to see it unfold.

Thanks Scott!
It was filthy when you saw it too!
Ill have some pics up tonight of her all cleaned up
Did you decide if you wanted to sell that cluster or not? Might have some temp gauges coming soon
do you want the gauges, or just the frame that the gauges slot in to?
I think just the frame
what gauges did you have?
by memory I think that its outside temp, fuel economy and volts?
Yep that's right, and the extras was oil pres 3 bar or 5 bar, and oil temp also a digital outside temp gauge
Due to unforeseen circumstances ive had to pull her off the road for a few months :'(

I can however now divulge my plans!

This is the general idea... More tomorrow when I pick up some bits :P

Much much more to come :D
With any luck I will be very involved in the process too! Very exciting to work on such a conversion.
Take notes Alex, I might do something similar down the road... which means you'll do doing the work :P
