So I have now fitted the engine to the car. Sorted out my electrical gremlin and revved the car to 5500rpm. I am too rich again at cruising. But under power it's pretty good.
The cam vs the old one which was a mix of a "c" and "d" cam from what I could tell.
Max power was at about 5000rpm.
It never felt like it was fast, it made a whole lot of noise, but didn't move very fast.
The higher compression it has now (46cc combustion chamber on a 40' over bore with a 0.038' squish) is at about 10.8:1 and combined with the Clive 805 grind cam which is
At 1.45 rocker ratio it is at about 0.440 lift. Which is comparable to a kg17.
The scare stories are just that. Particularly with my combination of dcoe 45s, 38mm exhaust valve, ported exhaust side with the valve guide cut back. Noise increased while cruising, but I have good power from 1500rpm, no need to downside like before, it does pick up at 3500 a bit, but it's very torquey overall now.
