deleted_user_160 Bahahaha. And a welth of parts to build for well over 800bhp. Sadly though, no individual gears for straightcut, like they do for the ej20 boxes. It's 1-5straigbtcut, or nothing.
deleted_user_160 it is for me. 1-2 i wanted in straight cut. and with further research 3rd would have been a good idea as well. however sadly not. straight cut full box would be a nightmare for any road registered car. the screaming noise at highway speeds would be immense. and i dont mind noise from my cars, wether it be, gearbox, road, engine etc. (good working order noises that is) if only someone made the kit for 1-3gears. -_-
jonbot I dare say you could find someone willing to sell straight cut dog 1-4, seeing as 5th is out the back anyway 4th/ 5th would be quiet enough
deleted_user_160 Don't want dog shifting. That would be hell for a street car. I wouldn't mind adding the counter gear stabiliser to 5th. And rehearing 3rd a touch, but that could be harder than I think with the possibility of getting 1-4 sc.
Major Ledfoot There's a straight-cut kit for the T5. 5th is an option. It won't be cheap. ppgearbox.com.au/page.asp?productid=34 Is there a '13 52 'number on the tag number of the BA transmission? What's the casting number of the rear housing?
Major Ledfoot Looks like Ford Australia puts some weirdo tags on their T5 gearboxes - . According to the guys at fordmods.com, series 1 AU = WR2A. . Meanwhile, this T5 bellow, from a BA XR6 is on ebay - at the moment, going price is $15. It's in Grafton NSW.
jonbot Bottom one is what I have I'm guessing its from an XR Slipyolk on the output though, not sure what that's about
Dauntless jonbot;39531 wrotesomething of a resurrect i picked up a 5sp tremec thing that was in a BA 6 cyl, measured box face to shifter at 24.5" will be a while till im looking at fitting it, will report back once its going in has internal slave too, not that that is all that much use to me Hmm, really. I asked Mal Wood about the Tremec boxes and he said they didn't have a suitable shifter position. Is it a T5 or a TKO? And I'm assuming the super tall 2.95 1st gear?
deleted_user_160 the out put shaft is nicer than what we have had to deal with in the past. ie my traditional T5 out put shaft.
jonbot It looks like a normal t5 but has tremec cast into the case and a nice shifter position Same slip yolk output, haven't counted the input shaft splines
deleted_user_160 ahhhh. thats the difference. so its about as good as the one i have internally. it might only have the housing positions that are better than the one i have.
