The Kaplhenke adaptor plate description states:
"These adapter plates are designed to be used with an input shaft length of ~182.6 mm (7.18")"
This is much less than the 9.25" originally listed.
Put it down to the silly way that Borg Warner / Tremec describe their parts.
e.g - a 1352-000-238 T5, to fit a Mustang V6, has a listed shaft length ("A") of either 199.9mm or 7.85 inches (depending on whose references you use).
The corresponding replacement for the shaft in this box is described as
10" 23 Teeth 1994-2001 Mustang V6 or part no 1352-085-052.
So they refer to the shaft (in spare parts terms) as the length of the shaft (i.e. dimension A) PLUS the gear and bearing at one end of it.
JFTR, the Kaplhenke Racing adapter plate is different from the DeeWorks / Yoshifab plate, as -
1. The KR plate allows you to fit either a T5 or TKO; the DW/Yf only does the T5
2. The KR plate requires the bellhousing to be machined; the DW/Yf is a bolt-on
Both adapter plates however cater for mounting a box to a B21 / B230 leaning over (240, 700) or upright, e.g in an 1800, Amazon, or 140.
PS: Neither DeeWorks, Yoshifab, nor Kaplhenke specify their plate thickness. By way of comparison only, IIRC a Dellow adapter plate for a Celica 5 speed onto a B20 bellhousing was 0.5 inches, back in 1988.
