AshDVS jagardh;52281 wroteHopefully i will finish it next weekend. and then roadworthy following week. I stuffed up on rear suspension (i think). I bought shocks and springs for non-nivomats. Turns out i do have nivomats. What else do i need to do a conversion to non nivomat? @Rob @ashdvs Cheers Actually, you're all good. Shock mounts are different and there is a set of nuts and washers (inlcuded in you box) that you'll use to swap between nivomat and non-nivomat.
jagardh Finally all suspension done :D Now i need to check wiring and solder the ABS module the it should hopefully be ready for roadworthy and rego. It sits a little bit high but hopefully it will "settle".
AshDVS Great stuff. You can expect to drop another 5-10mm in the rear in a few hundred kms. It's amazing how much the ride height drops with old/worn strut mounts, spring seats and rear shock mounts.
jagardh I have had the car on the road for a week now and im very happy with the ride @ashdvs It's been stuttering and today i finally got it fixed. I changed plugs, leads, AFM, vacuum tree and some vacuum elbows. I removed the throttle body for a clean and a new gasket. It ran much better afterwards :D I have discovered that the rear main seal is leaking so thats the next job. Possibly this will mean manual conversion.
Ghettobird Im tossing up a manual swap on my R some time in the future, I did note just how good the auto box is in comparison to a simular auto NA 5 cyl engine, some people say manual for sure, and others say to keep it as is... I really dont know
nickm Rear main is a bit painful. You do need an extra pair of hands to drop the transmission. To drop the subframe it is easier than you think.
AshDVS I'm pleased to hear you're happy with the ride and handling outcome, @jagardh Rear main is a bit of a pain but it's a good task to get out of the way with anything else you might be doing. Manual swap is well worth the effort if youre planning on keeping the car for an extended period.
jagardh My bonnet roof and boot was badly sun damaged so i have put a black bonnet on it and wrapped the roof and boot in "black brushed metal". My wrapping skills are not the best (yet) but it looks better than peeled clear coat. I will keep this on until its time for a respray. Im tempted to wrap the whole car to see what it will look like.
jagardh Yea spoiler came off. A few more panels and I'll get the hang of it and then I can redo what I'm not happy with :)
jagardh its eBay wrap, its about 70-80$ for a 3 meter roll. A more expensive wrap will probably will probably give a better result....
jagardh I haven't made my mind up yet. think i will leave it to last and see. I got 5 meters of satin black that they sent to me by mistake that i got to keep.
