Finished. Everything works except I hooked the trigger for the spot lights to the dip beam wire by accident ?oh well, no big deal.
I cranked it by hand then by starter to get it primed, still took ages before finally building pressure. Oh well that's why you use good assembly lube I suppose.
Man it purrs so nice, all the clatter is gone. Valve train is still noisy but eh, the hushers were left out on purpose.
So to quickly run through what else I did, I replaced the O2 sensor with a new one, I replaced the ECT with a new one, and I cleaned the PCV oil trap out.
Anyway I have only been cruising it around at light to mid loads but all the same it seems like the wastegate needs tinkering as it seems reluctant to boost past 4psi. It might be a boost leak though, entirely possible.
Here's how I crimped the main power supply wires, using a standard crimp and then running solder through it.
I also revised my relay setup so that the radiator fan relay switches the ground side of the circuit.
