87240gl Love your work @SirNemesis! All good things take time! You just gotta ignore vee que just gets a bit jealous i think
Angus242164 Great build, it should be a weapon when finished, I'm keen to see more updates as they happen. Thanks for keeping the thread going despite the earlier negativity. I choose to be secretive about my projects because I can't be bothered with the inevitable BS that comes with sharing your achievements, I'm glad you're not like me in that regard!
SirNemesis Well, made some progress on the car over the weekend. Got into the body wiring and decided the front-half of the body loom is just too far damaged to bother repairing. I had intended on stripping out the crap I don't need and replacing the fuse panel, but I've decided to just strip the lot and re-wire it from scratch. I really hate 240 fuse panels. I've had a few 240's before and they've always just given me the shits with wiring, so I'll be using an engine bay fuse panel from a Commodore and any associated wiring that just works well.

pauljloz Yeah everyone seems to talk about the engine harness on 240's. I rebuilt one on the weekend (k-jet so pretty simple) but discovered rot in the body harness (lights, washer etc) whilst I was there. I'm interested to see how far you go with the swap.

Very good reasons If you need any pig tails or anything let me know Happy to do some cutting and shove stuff into an envelope for you
SirNemesis Actually you might be able to help me out with something, or at least answer a question. Did 240's have a plug on the indicator stalk or did they just have bare spade terminals? I've gone right through my loom and cannot find a plug that is even remotely close to whats on the indicator stalk. I've either chopped it off, thrown it out and forgotten about it, or it never had one to begin with.
SirNemesis pauljloz;69914 wroteThis might help by process of elimination. Handy picture, thanks for that. Probably won't help me much though as my loom looks like this... :)

Slowbrick No plug on the indicator stalk. The wiper stalk does have a plug. Its a black squarish one and I believe it has 6 pins. The indicator side iirc is made up of 5 wires that are blue, yellow and black. On your harness it will be near the wiper one, the speedo plug which is a round connector with about 12 pins in it and the half moon connector that has about 5 pins in it. The giveaway is also that the spades will be bent from when they were in the steering column. gareth12 Great build! im embarking on a similar project, explorer diff, built 4l60e and a cammed nos 5.7l. I enjoyed reading this
SirNemesis Thanks! I'm looking to get back into it soon, just having some financial difficulties (story of my life). All going well it will be running this year!
gareth12 I sent you a message too about your jig and your location, no point reinventing the wheel ;)
SirNemesis Gareth, terrible timing, I sent it off to scrap not even 2 weeks ago! I figured it'd been sitting around in the back yard for long enough and I'd never use it again :(
