SPT940 iPad mini in clear holder with dock to sit front of existing DDN radio. Connected to radio via ipod adapter in place of CD changer.
Ex850R Ok.., A/ music is a distraction from driving. b-1/ maps are for putting on the bonnet when you stop at a crossroads for a cuppa from the thrmos that Mavis has made for you fresh that morning and maybe a scone if you treated her well last night. -2/for protection from heat from said bonnet for Mavis's arse when you hoist her up there for , ohh never mind.. 3/feedback is caused by the pipe out the back , use the lever to your left to change its tune. And D/ Now you did treat Mavis well the night before so coffee should be in the Thermos (see b-1/ ) You young scallywags need to remember these basics as a safety lesson , just what would you do if there was no battery power or signal?
Ex850R Tigabu;11140 wroteAlso slower, less ram and storage... ;) Still plays music the same speed dude! Storage is via nifty cable to a 3TB HDD in the glove compartment.
Tigabu Mavis doesn't live here anymore. She took her scones and thermos and bolted with Ermintrude. 4G connection means I get to listen to non-stop music via Pandora and doesn't have to have anything in glove box except for the dash roll. Maps change more frequently than Tony Abbott's policy agenda, and it's hard to read a map coveted in snail trails and coffee stains. Pipe tuning is what got me into trouble with Mavis in the first place and it was usually the middle pedal that got us into the map reading/exploration in the second place Nah, just give me a tablet and all will be right with the world...

SPT940 iPad/Nexus(good for additional storage I guess), built in. Yes. I like. iTunes storage from the cloud over 4G(unlimited storage). Spotify or Rdio for whatever you want to listen to, when ever you want to. iMaps or (Google equivalent) built in, Siri for help! (or Google equivalent which, I understand, is a tad better?!?!) Why would any company build a car with a radio(wireless transistor!) anymore??? iPad mini/Nexus or any tablet. Total hands free( do whatever you tell it to do, most of the time!). Own battery power too. Use it when car not running, or in emergency! Many YouTube videos of these installations to look at.

I bought a cigarette lighter charger for my phone. If I can't get 12v out of the lighter I suspect I have more pressing worries than road maps.
K3FSAR I thought I got everything I need today..... But apparently not. 2 cables short so going to have to wait a week or two until I can try it in car. So I've got some time to fine tune everything on my table. Decided on installing Windows XP too and dual booting so I have the option of running VOL-FCR or something similar to easily check errors and reset service lights etc. :D
