Need help on where the best place to put the jack stand on a 2008 S80 rear as I want to replace the rear brakes
The trolley jack will go in the mounts as indicated but the jack stand will not fit next to it. Where precisely can it go so its safe to work with.

I'd use the trolley jack under the lower control arm / shock mount, then install the stand under the jacking point...

I was thinking of putting the trolley jack in the middle of the rear sub-frame then install the stand under the jacking point
You think its better under the lower control arm ?

The XC90 has a depression under the spring position which fits my trolley jack perfectly, so that's where I use. Typically the subframe is just a steel sheet... probably should be OK, but I know the alloy arms are fine (the spring takes almost all the load
