Can anyone recommend a business in western Sydney for re-covering a trio of 73/74 dashboard tops?
Dashboard re-covering in NSW?
I am thinking about doing this myself since companies like Dashboard Dr. charge an arm and a leg!
I'd like to know this too.
Since Clyde needs to have his heater fan motor replaced, and since Xoe needs a full under-dash inspection of her electricals and all of her air vent and demister bits refitted, now might be the best time to really go to town on the pair of them.
@Dauntless - do you have a 73/74 crash pad needing work too? If so, it might be time for organising a sort of group buy.
I don't, but I'm interested in how they turn out.
@bgpzfm142 I need a couple of them
I'm interested to see results first also. Three in my stable need doing, all 240s tho. Contemplated flocking a spare to see how it looks too.

Okay.
Since there's been no forthcoming recommendations, I guess it's up to yours truly to find one and report back with results.
WARNING: This may take a while.

There is a flocking business local-ish.
id contemplated getting a v70 one done.

How about a printed car sticker with leather look! Or fluffy look? Mate can print super quality on that media and its just heat wrapped like on a car body , that would be , er , different....

UPDATE:
I've asked a couple of local car trim businesses if they do this kind of work; nada. They each said they outsource this work to a place in Carlton (NSW).
The next update will be when I get some photos of the dashboards that need work, email the pics off, and get quotes back on them.

Couldn't find any auto upholsterer in Seven Hills via the Yellow Pages.
But I did find a place while searching out that way. Next step is to give him the first of 3 dash-tops.

Here's flocking on a 240. Absolutely love it, it's now on my to-do list.AshDVS;31300 wroteThere is a flocking business local-ish. id contemplated getting a v70 one done.

Is this an example of Meet The Flockers' work? It looks great.

Nope, those pics are from a US project on Turbobricks. Same process though obviously. It's a good alternative to spending an arm and leg on Alcantara!

As can be seen, the grain matches the original. I'm very pleased with the result.
