Curious - 240 rear exterior louvers

Are you after a particular brand?

The Aunger brand which does them for 100/200 series sedans seem to range from $50 to $350 on the used market.

I have not seen a factory Volvo one locally. I've seen a mob overseas that do replica ones of the factory early style.

I think @Ramrodfunk may have one ?

A mate recently got one off him and passed it onto me , pretty sure he had 2

I've been lucky to find a couple and stash them.This is my car that I painted the louvre to match the body paint .It's peel off paint. At one stage I had a white leather steering wheel but quickly grew to dislike it. It was constantly dirty.

Chris@GreenGL I've got a genuine factory Volvo louvre in my stash.The one in the picture is Aunger.The differences are like anything Volvo.The genuine is very good quality .The after market ones are great just not over engineered like everything 240. Some of them have a cutout for the 3rd brake light some don't. The clips for attaching them to the window are easily available on Flea bay. I've promised one to Jarred and I'll probably hang onto the Volvo one. So if your interested I'll check my stash max@maxthedog . My sedan will be up for sale as soon I can get my wagon back on the road.So I may consider selling the one in the picture. Hey Dave@pigdog can you ask Jared if he's still interested. I can't remember his Ozvolvo tag.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you but my family have been isolating with covid. I'll try and get pictures for you this weekend but the stash is at my 90 yrs old fathers house and can't get to close to him until I'm confident that I can't infect him.

The genuine 240 Volvo external louvre were designed with a cutout for the 3rd brake light.

The 7 plastic strips attached to the glass that the louvre then clicked into. The adhesive double sided tape was the strongest I’ve ever known and near impossible to remove.

The Volvo louvre was significantly lighter than the Aussie Augner and also had aero considerations in the design comparatively.

My one has the window strips still attached with the remains of the crazy strong double sided tape.Looks like they slipped some sort of blade along the glass. I've already damaged one of the strips trying to undo what looks like a Phillips head screw.Is there something I'm missing because they do not want to come free?

To unclip requires a special removal tool that came with the louvre. No other method will work as its a security feature also.

The large adhesive strips feature plastic posts that stick up. They have squeeze sides protrusions that are the lock.

The tool is a round piece of plastic rod, the outside dia and inside dia are important as it fits in and presses the side protrusions in and hence it releases. The tool can be reproduced.

I might (or might not) still have the small black plastic tool, I’ll take a look.

on the insert section its:

OD = 9.7, ID = 7, L = 33, with Slot on insert section. Knob on end is say 12 but not important.
