Blue M46 overdrive relay

I am looking for a used overdrive relay for my M46

Anyone have one?

I have a yellow not to sure if that would work?

@Inski I have a possible lead on a blue one but if it doesn't work out I will see about using the yellow, I can probably rejig the wiring to suit it if I have to.

@Inski haven't found a blue one yet. I looked up the yellow, the relay looks compatible but it has weird extra pins that I don't have a socket for. I might try a bit harder to find a blue one first.

Is there anything special about this relay besides 3 pins? Can we/ us source a new equivalent? Or is it about a period / colour corect placement?

I ask as I have no clue about the overdrive on the M46 but I am keen to educate myself.

@jamesinc, ah ok, just let me know i you need it and find a way to use it.

Has anyone tried using a aw7# overdrive relay, they use a momentary switch also to control a solenoid, just power it through the 4th gear switch. I never looking into it, just a thought I had.

Use a y relay but patch the blue body onto it?

Even hide a suitable relay and keep the failed blue one as show?

Yes you can buy them new.

They are like a standard SPST but pin 85/86 will latch/unlatch the relay from a pulse.
