Ford Intech SOHC swap into 92 240

Hey all,

Looking at putting a ford au intech in goldie my 240. Jist seeing if anyone has done this yet as i guess engine mounts will be my down fall. Also looking at putting a btr 4 speed in as well. Any thoughts and advice its my first euro conversation. Cheers.

If you're going to do that, you might as well put in a Barra DOHC out of a BA Falcon.

There have been some converted, it would help to buy a whole car to use everything out of it

I'd be doing a Toyota 3.5 2gr motor, easier swap and same or way better power level with less weight

Is there a RWD transmission for the 2GR?

We have a V6 Estima and it is a blast to drive and I always thought it a shame there were no RWD platforms for such cracking engine.

Adapters for lots of things like R154/CD009 etc available,

175kw 4.0 1GR-FE was used in the RWD Hilux, those things are lively. The 207kw 3.5 7GR-FKS was available in the Hiace, although I think they're fairly rare and would be pretty complicated to get running with the combined direct/port injection and dual VVTi.

Barra seems like the easiest path to get a ~190kw engine running in something it doesn't belong in.
