Upper engine mount bushings for 850

just bought one from flee bay. Febi bilstien ones generally are better quality than the uro stuff. Febi part no 12799 $25 or so to my door.

I think Ash can / has just answered that , i will sourse it from mark , he should have that stuff on the shelf , put up a pic of it on the T as it needs one too!! I have a blue poly mount for the big end sitting around.

It is a great thing about this forum , you get some great wandering threads and either lots of shit , fun or great info or a combination of all of it!

We simply order them in as a replacement part for P80 850/C70/S70/V70 models.

The trans torque mount is a P2 part.

@egads (she/her), you're talking about the upper engine mount. The later square type is a better design but requires a different housing/shell that fastens to the top of the engine.

I dont know but it may require modification to the spark plug cover and/or the arm between there and the firewall mount.

I just did both upper mounts on my 850.
Both were toast.
I've used a polly bushing on the engine end and the newer style at the firewall.
I always thought the firewall one would be a PITA to change, but once the cowl is off its a piece of cake.
Also gives you the chance to clean 15-20 years of junk out of there and install a cabin filter. (i got a filter but no holder :( )

I did find that the poly bushing was too large for my bracket, and it had to be cut on the outside to re-install the arm.

Do the lower trans torque mount too, it'll make a massive difference to how smoothly it shifts.

I should also change the dirty water that is masquerading as trans fluid.

Yeah, even though my firewall mount was all but gone changing the trans mount is what made it feel better on the road. No more rough shifts and lunges when speeding up and coming to a stop.

How's the NVH with the poly upper mount?

NVH... well I've noticed that the gear changes are really firm.
The dash rattles, but I dont know if that is because she always rattled, or this caused it...

I had one on my 850R. It made it a bit buzzy at idle is all I noticed but made gear changing much better ( in conjunction with new gearbox mount , I had a poly one for there but didn't use it ) , worth doing ..

Poly bush very harsh, Volvo standard bush nice and soft

which urethane bush are you using? urethane is available in different levels of stiffness too.
Might just be that the trans torque mount is soft or that a couple of the others need attention too.

I had all 3 in urethane in the end on the v70 and that had the least NVH. That was with firewall with bloody stiff, engine top mount with firm but not crazy and trans mount large side stiff and small side less stiff.

Ah, makes sense. It'd be interesting to measure all of the common ones against eachother.

I'm noI sure if I mentioned it or not. But the polly Bush at the engine was a poor fit.
It was too large to fit in the hole and had to be trimmed.
I might have been able to press it in with a press but i don't think the tube would have fitted in after the fact.
The outside had to be trimmed to clear the bracket/arm also

Is there a polly kit for the lower mount?
I'm thinking polly lower rubber top maybe the best compromise.
