Long term is to remove anything from the rear and have both 6.5's in the door

Still unsure with tweeters...

Screw it... Ordered the matching co-ax speakers for the rear (on super sale)

They support being bi amped etc as well so can run them full range or midrange only

Also ordered 3sqm of sound dampening to start with to make the car a quieter place in general

I'm going to do some 3d printed models out of PLA for the front doors for dual 6.5 setups and if I get something I like them move to pteg

Co ax speakers

Speakers arrived and they are nice

I need to get some extra RCA cables today as I have 4 channels but need 6

In future should have a DSP to simplify things...

The sound deadening arrives tomorrow and I can start stripping the interior to do the wiring and deadening etc

Also need to find a yard to get a few replacement parts and work out why the pass window does not go up or down

More pimping material

I only have 1 at the moment

End result will be 3 of them

And to start making it quit...

I'm going to do the doors and the floor while I have panels off running wiring etc

I'll prob need buy a bunch more but this gets me started

Went and visited st mary's car audio (bloke who runs the place is top notch) looking for a spare Sony radio harness of the right generation as well as a 5M RCA cable pair and a sony dash sleeve $40 later and I had everything I needed... bloke who runs the place is top notch

13 days later

I got a spare second hand alt and confirmed fitment and have now sent it off to mechman to upgrade it to 6 phase and 180+ amps

Frustratingly the supplier of the first sound deadener I ordered is now out of stock... so found a new supplier and get to see how much difference there is before I install anything (want consistency) assuming the new stuff is as good as the old stuff I'll order extra so the same does not repeat again

I got in a solid state relay with integrated adjustable delay so a quick test and confirmed it works with the trigger for the dome light... so now am setting up foot well and other lights for better overall lighting

Weather should be good at some point next week to 100% strip the interior and run some wire and RCA's, install deadener and get something happening finally

Ooh I like a good nugget build ?

I've got an rough as SSANYONG that identifies as a canyonero. I always buy the cheapest of everything for it

@Wino

For stereo starting with the 2 sets of the kenwood high res components

plan had been for stock locations for all 4 woofers, but just one set of tweeters

Thoughts on second set of tweeters in rear vs second set in front etc?

I could do one direct facing and one set bouncing off the windshield or both direct facing or one at front and one at rear

the cross-overs are bi-amp capable.... so can do a lot in terms of amplification etc

heh you know me

nothing in the back

bands and music comes from in front not behind

i have a mid 2000's 4x100w jaycar response BNIB for you too

I'm dealing with bulk suppliers but there is a huge variance in quality

The latest batch was this stuff

The aluminum layer is thinner than I would like but just acceptable...

I made a little bit of room in the container... so the Sub box is going into it for the moment .... box building is taking a backseat for a little while... TBH most of the project is taking a backseat...

I'm in USA for a little while in December so going to pick up another one of the Jensen 4ch Amps

prob in jan going to have more time... for the moment... the HU is going in this weekend with an Alpine Power Pack (45x4) amp at the front as well just to have anything....

Building product aluminium tape is Kool stuff too....

    a month later

So while in USA I did get a second 4 channel so will BI amp the front speakers and start with bi amping the rear speakers as well

Today I started on the pass side door

I pulled out the window and dead regulator (regulator was proper fucked)

Then started on the noise deadener

The entirety of the inside of the outer panel is done

I reinstalled the new regulator and glass and tested and confirmed a working window

Have started on the inner panel as well but gave up from lighting

I'll finish it in the AM

I'm also going to pull out the entire interior...

    So I can

    1. Do sound deadening on the roof

    2. Run RCA from HU to rear

    3. Run the speaker cables from speakers to rear

    4. Run remote turn on

    5. Run 1/0 from alt/battery to rear

    6. Install the renogy 50amp dc-dc converter

    7. Install one of the 200ah lifepo4 battery's

    8. Install the Kenwood 1000w rms amp

    9. Install the 2 Jensen amps

    10. Install a 1/0 to ground

    11. Appropriate power fusing and ground distribution and ground hookup

    12. Hook everything up

    13. Start with single 10" sub

    14. Not forget to do the floor with sound deadening

    15. Install a radio so there is sound
