Haha ok. Well it's competitive against everything else that's on the market re kms year and price. Yeah don't want something as big or thirsty as the xc90. I like the power to weight and torque of the D5 xc60, the xc90 felt very sleepy in comparison.

I hear you re this car though. Maybe it's madness buying in the current market, but there's nothing avail under $16k with around 170k km.

Better off with a Kluger in that case, Volvo when older require money spent.

For what you want to do it's a safer bet.

V8 sound is a gazillion times better than a Massey Ferguson sound.....

We have S80D5 and had tested a V8 version, wish we didn't wait to test other cars the V8 would have been a lot better.

Missed out on V8.....

And,when interest rates go up, expect car prices to plummet.

No V8 Volvos on Carsales. Ok, Kluger 2013 200k km V6 for $19k I guess is an option, they just seem to suck compared. I just came from a diesel Alfa Giulietta lol so don't want to totally give up that diesel punch. I can have a look at the kluger. Not sure if used car market will crash, maybe a slow decline but not convinced there'll be huge changes in price necessarily.

Graham's V8 won't be on general market.

Ask Mark, I told him you will call.

Plus you get the BMG warranty which NOBODY matches, I'm amazed what they honour. (And I don't even like them much! True!)

Haha ok. I'll call them today. Thanks for your input Snoopy

Btw, the T6 has way better low down urge than the D5.......

That haldex code generally means the dem module is faulty so would be an expensive repair eg $3k ish

The rest of the codes are most likely stored from a low/flat battery, I wouldn't be concerned about.

Genuine cam belt kit with pulleys/tensioner is $400ish so the cheaper quote is obviously not a complete kit or low quality parts.

Aux belt and tensioners are part of the 180,000km10/yr service

I'm a bit worried about the range though with the amount it drinks. I've driven one T6 and it didn't feel as spritely as the D5, I will revisit though.

        Ahh!

Plus likely failure of A/C compressor and alternator at this age.

D5 will need de-coking as well.

When you click the gear selector over to sport mode it's better.

Ive got a TDI Tuning box and it snaps your head back.....

Fuel economy on par with our D5 as she drives around town.

Long distance won't be too differ6, it is a 5cyl diesel.

Turbo lag on our D5 is horrible compared to seamless torque instantly in T6.

Average of the T6 I drive was I think 10l, D5 was 8l, both town kms. Don't think the 2012/13s have sport mode?

          Mark's back in tomorrow :)

My 2011 has left hand gate on gearshift.

That puts in sport shift and throttle response.

2010 didn't as LHS gate was manual shift (whick you can do on later years and in 2014 with paddles)

Ahh yeah, Marks daughters birthday at the show!

          Talk to Graham? Not Leon.....

The 2012 and 13s I've driven the left side gate is a manual shift, didn't see anything about sport mode but may well be. Graham's off as well, office coordinator said Mark's the one to speak to re sales etc, so will try get him tomorrow. Thanks mate, invaluable.

Yes,just put it over in the left hand gate and it's sport. No need to touch it unless you want manual shift.

            a month later

Ended up getting a different XC60. D5, 90k kms, roof rack, tow bar, tinted windows, serviced by Graeme at Berry. Way better than the one I originally asked about. Thanks for the feedback ??
