Hi all,

We have 2 Volvo (S40 2005 & XC90 2017) and looking for a good mechanic near Castle Hill. We have normally gone to Precision Automotive, but the distance, time and hassle is literally making it prohibitive nowadays.

Since the Hills has one of the highest number of Volvos now, would have thought there would be someone fairly local.

Thanks.

I'm a mechanic and I live in Castle Hill. However, I'm more affiliated with the classic Volvo models.

For the more modern type, I use a mechanic which is close to me also in Castle Hill. Let me know what kind of work you need and I would certainly be willing to help

Just normal service for the S40 which is about 18 years old now. Bought it new all those years ago and is part of the family

      Those 40s are great fun!

The handling keeps you engaged, I would have got my daughters one as first car but they love the 240.

ramrod hi, I'm living in Castle Hill and I got a Volvo XC90 D5 Diesel year 2011 model. I am having coolant leak problem. Can you recommend a good mechanic around here? Sadly, XC90s are not classics yet 😋

Try GB car care (automotive) in Hornsby Hunter St.

They know there stuff on Volvos and are reasonable in price!

ramrod Hey mate, I have a XC70 (2007) that is throwing up a TCM module issue. I'm just trying to work out where might be best to take this to get it serviced and that TCM issue looked at? Really just after a mechanic that will tell me how it is and advise the next best steps for this one. Any help would be massively appreicated.

Lachie98 do you know what codes are you getting? TCM failure isn't common on those models but solenoid/valve body issues are if it's the last of the p2 models

timbo The error code on the print-out I have is 5130 - Permenant Fault - Communication, transmission control module (TCM) - Faulty singal. Thanks for taking the time to read and check @timbo!

Lachie98 And probably good to know I was mistaken apologies it was manufactured in 05 not 07 🙂

Sure give me a call 0405-299-962

            Thanks

            Sam
