WTB M46 Gear Stick Assembly

Looking for a gear stick assembly for the m46 in my 240. Happy to pickup in south east Queensland or pay for postage.

What part of the shifter do you need or the complete assembly knob and all?

It's a bit hard to describe but I need the outter sleeve part with the rubber inside intact as well as the reverse lockout mechanism. If that makes sense.

I'd be happy to take a whole assembly though, I don't need the knob

Never used Ali express before and have gotten mixed reviews. But I figure it's worth a shot and can't be worse than my current situation.

I am getting one of those, but I'm trying to get the genuine one from Sellholmshop.se

But also, these don't have an overdrive button on top so you will need to put a button elsewhere.

I struggled trying to get an M47 shifter, pretty much only available with a gearbox. I ended up getting a M46 shifter setup from Berry Motors and making that fit for purpose, i ended up getting an adapter made up to run a Hurst styled shifter knob.

In my search for a shifter i looked at the Sellholmshiop shifter but the coast scared me. I read a few reviews on the Alieexpress shifter and it needed a bit of adjusting and stuff done to it.

Maybe one of the wreckers or volvo places might have one sitting on a shelf.

Your definitely right about about most shifters only being with full gearboxes, which makes sense. Called a few local places with no luck.

I did see the reviews saying the ali express one needed work. I'll see how mine goes and if it need serious changes I'll post about what I did.

The aliexpress one worked fine for me, just watch your knuckles.

The bushes needed a bit of love from a file to make fit properly.

I just ordered a Sellholm one, I'd be interested to compare.

I was also considering putting the shifter stalk on the lathe and boring it out to accept M46 overdrive wiring, then machining the shifter knob so it has a little flap and a button under it, like a James Bond ejector seat!
