Then this green...
Yep definetally the charcoal paintwork, it stands out more

That green isn't too far off what I already have. I could probably get away with a closed door respray if I go a couple of shades darker. A lot to think about and plenty of time to think. The paint is the last thing on the list.
Edit: I can't remember the last time that I saw a car with a louvre on it :)
240Joe
There was a used louvre on US eBay for $900 this week lol!

Mechanical things are currently happening. Stay tuned :)

If you are going charcoal , it would be cheaper to find a charcoal car/shell andvswap parts in I expect , considering cost of someone painting it proper like...
A_Volvo_Driver
No, no colour change at this time. For now its mechanical stuff only.

Get rattle cans at Supercheap when on sale n give it a BOGAN paint job....

Why does bogan go in caps on my phone??

Time for a Moose update...
After not having the car for over a month, I got it back today. Angus was a champ, and really helped me out. I dropped it off with a long list of jobs and the car now has a manual box, replaced diff, replaced power steering rack and had a spruce up of the k-jet.
I have left the 531 head with him and when it is ready, it will be installed too.
I am a very happy camper :)
240Joe
How does the manual feel compared to auto? Is it surprisingly different?
Got the K cam in as well?
Ex850R
Wow , what a change!
I bet its a new car and much more fun!?
We need to meet to take the syrup off your hands Scott , I am in Prahran every day this week , if I finish in time afternoon is free , no rush?

It's a different car indeed - night and day. The auto's really hold the engine back.
My old man took the car for a drive and he was amazed at how fun he found it. This is coming from an owner of a worked Falcon too.
The cam is not in yet, it will be put in when the 531 is ready. I have an adjustable cam gear too, so the power range can be set just right.

Les, yeah, we do need to catch up! Arvo's might not be best for me though, as I work 10-7:30.
I do have Wednesday off though.

Fantastic stuff.
Did you get onto the remaining bushes while you were at it?
A_Volvo_Driver
I'm not 100% sure on the bushes. I think that the existing ones were retained.
240Joe
I'm glad you like it! You have something good to race at Avalon now. :P
I'll be interested to hear what differences the cam and head make on your arse dyno.

Just noticed this thread for the first time, thanks for the good report Scott, glad you're happy with the work.
The rear suspension had a very thorough going over, virtually everything was removed and refitted to carry out the diff swap anyway, and I checked the remaining bolts with a breaker bar, and everything was tight.
The noise sounded exactly like a loose shocker bolt, I had one come slightly loose on my 760 recently and it sounded the same, but they were all very tight on Scott's car. Since I found nothing abnormal during the diff swap, I swapped the shocks from left to right as an experiment, and the noise moved to the right side, so by process of elimination it appears to be an internal fault in the shock that's now on the right side.
I didn't replace any bushes, I swapped the new poly trailing arm to diff bushes from the old diff to the new one though. The torque rod bushes are poly and in good shape, the trailing arm to chassis bushes are rubber and in good shape, the panhard bar bushes are a bit cracked and crappy looking, but still doing their job fine, they can be easily replaced later if you're concerned about them.

See Scott, it wasn't me! :)

Never in doubt Joe, and I LOL'd at "arse dyno".

For those who were't at Parkes, or on the VEGA Facebook group, this is how the car is looking these days.
Boot & bonnet have been painted in black undercoat, which will last me until I eventually get the car resprayed.
