@nugget_940 i ment fleece tape in general. i do use Ti abit that's where I brought my green injectors from.

@shadycourgette most auto electrician can make battery cables to suit I found the right angle terminals on the battery i bit unique but you can get them or just use right angle terminals. I was lazy and brought the cables but if I do it again I will make my own in lager diameter cable as I find the factory cable a bit on the thin side. You won't do any harm with bigger than required cable.

Mine don't have the right angle terminals, which makes removing the battery cables a PITA. What size cable would you recommend?

This is Braided harness but we use all black or a an orange trace not yellow. Its realy good wearing but not to common In cars more so mining, construction and Ag machinery

0 B&S cable (49mm²) is good for automotive applications. The factory volvo stuff is smaller but really depends on the room you have. Most if not all Auto Electricians can make cables for you and and can get the right angle lugs or right angle terminals like the factory items. Just tell them what you would like.

I know Andrew from this company he services my cars there not volvo specific or specialists in anyway but he is an Auto Electrician and they do Auto Electrician work. Any Auto Electrician should be fine tho.

I don't really know anyone else in automotive we are all in the mining sector.

I need to source a turbine outlet flange so I can have my DP modified to fit the new angle flange turbo, where can I find a SS one? All the eBay ones are Ni coated steel. Ordered a SS one from Yother but got an email from them saying they don’t make them anymore. Any ideas?

They are a nightmare to find I had to get one made by a mate in the UK, the 1 place that will probably have them is Shemtek on FB, UK tuner he'll probably have them in stock, messenger his business page

A questions perhaps for @TL_V70, I found some Tesa fleece tape locally, I’m going to use it for the higher temp areas towards the back of the engine, is it wise to put the braided wire over the top of the fleece or is that overkill? I prefer the look of the braided wire, but the fleece tape is definitely nicer than electrical tape

Its entirely up to you if you want to use both its not going to do any harm. I am not sure of the temp rating of the braided sleeve but I am sure it will be fine. Lol dot get me started on Electrical tape some brands are really good and some brands are just pure rubbish.

Ripper is my go to FAVE I even buy my own rolls and take them to work with me as we have junk tape at work.

So the car is finally up and running, had it towed to the exhaust place for a new DP, then it spent a few weeks at the auto electrician getting fuel pump + wiring, AFR gauge and some tidying up.

Had it idling on and off while doing a coolant flush and noticed a very loud ticking coming from the EVAP valve. Service kit from Volvo was $330, found a new OEM Bosch valve at Repco for $5. Discovered the plug for the sensor is slightly different to the Repco one (newer, updated model). Instead of giving Volvo more money I might just lob off the tab that’s in the way…

The car drives relatively okay, definitely has an issue during WOT which I think are spark plug related. I had some Volvo plugs to go in but it’s recommended to go with NGKs so I’ll get some of those. I’ll hopefully get a datalog this weekend and send it over to Aaron.

I still need to fit the snorkel to the airbox, finish painting the valve cover, polish the fuel rail, detail the engine bay and go over some of the faded black trim pieces.

Some updates..

After conversing with Aaron (VAST), we figured out that the wideband sensor that was installed was wired into the front 02 sensor which wasn’t recognised by the ECU, as the tune was set to read from the rear 02. Flashed a new tune and it’s driving a lot better, still over fuelling as Aaron tuned it for 960 MAF housing when it’s running stock. Once the tune for the stock housing is flashed I’ll do another log, although I’m thinking I might just save myself future hassle and go 960 housing.

I’ve also noticed a slight coolant leak coming from the plastic end on the radiator, is the general consensus to go OEM? I’ve heard mixed reviews about the do88 one.

I finally managed to source some OEM rear parcel shelf speakers covers to replace the heinous aftermarket ones. Does anyone know what size speakers will fit under them? 5x7 or 6x8? Info online is a bit conflicting and I haven’t received them in the mail yet to measure them.

Pretty happy with how the spark plug cover turned out.

Re the VAST tune,

I assume we are both have very similar mods all the usual bolt ons. 18T,S60R Green inj,Upgraded fuel pump, aftermarket intercooler, 3 inch turbo zorst and Wide band Reg of the Rear 02 sensor.

except your manual and I am slush box.

The first 5 ish tunes I got were Aaron checking my cars sensors ect that everything was working,reading and correct no vacuum leaks and the motor was healthy as far as he could tell from the data as thats all he has to go by no point feeding boost and fuel into an engine thats not healthy and can't tune with bad sensors its useless. I had a couple of small issues but that was my fault wrong plug in the wrong spot ( fuel Evap/charcoal canister fault). Too many beers while working on the Volvo lol.

Then after that he asked me to fit the Green injectors and 960 MAF and reflash the with a new tune and proceed as required 5 ish more logs. Thats how it worked out for me.

In fitting the 960 MAF housing to my V70 ( Should be the same for 850)

With swapping to the V70 electrical element here is a thread i did. It might help or give you some ideas. Happy modifying!

The HT-259 rear parcel shelf speakers were originally 8ohm , Ive put 6 x 8 Rockford Fosgate 4 ohms in they work fine.

I have spare set of HT-259 for sale. To siute 850's.

You'll find Australian delivered cars already have the wiring in place just not the speakers

Yeah it sounds like our cars are quite similar in terms of mods. Aaron said it’ll likely take 4-8 tunes before the car is properly dialled in. I feel like it is mostly there, just need to sort out the over fuelling.
