Yeah I think all it did was help clear out the lines and burn off some gunk haha. I should probably fill it to the brim with some quality 98 stuff with a bit of fuel system cleaner in it and see if that helps it.

That old 850 fuel prob wasn't too good either.
Could be moisture after all this rain?
Is there a sock filter on the in tank pump?

I wonder about ultrasonic cleaning of injectors? Seems to be expensive , I wonder how much improvement it gives.

Yeah I suspect its fuel related, contaminated/old fuel or what not haha, when we get around to servicing everything else ill fill it to the brim with good quality premium fuel, chuck all of the fuel cleaning shit in there and flush it through. Might invest in a new filter if its not impossible to replace (and Im sure being a volvo it is).

I regret not swapping the injectors for the much lower mileage ones on the 850 but i think theyre okay.

Fuel filter wont hurt to replace if you dont know when it was last done. It's a 5-10min job with basic hand tools.

I'd be checking distributor cap (they can become porous with age and let moisture in) and rotor button as possible causes too.

Unless it's never been changed then be very careful with the plastic locking thingys that slip over the canister I broke one 1st time I changed one and that turned into a nightmare.

Haha but yeah Ill get onto that it probably hasnt been done in ever!

I already put the 850's distributor cap and rotor in it a while back, they both looked pretty much brand new so I think they are okay.

so, i finally invested in some brake discs, hoses, pads, a new timing belt kit with all tensioners and rollers, water pump and bolts and everything, cost me a fortune! Only problem is it didnt seem to come with a sticker. I think it was supposed to come in the belt box but there isnt anything there. That box was open when I got it so it probably fell out and its in none of the other packaging. Id like to have the sticker so I thought if Im hunting down a sticker I should see if I can hunt down one of the cool genuine Volvo ones, the silvery ones. Any idea where I can get one? They look like this:

Any ideas?

That pretty pile of bits would be worth a lot more now the dollar has dropped!

Looks like a lot of local parts. Wherever you bought your timing belt from should have them but they do come in the box Yes.

They are all from FCP, was far cheaper than buying local (I think), plus it came in a nice kit and considering this is my first time, I didnt want to mess around haha. FCP doesnt seem to sell just the sticker. Can I get them from the Volvo dealer? @iceton1975‌ you got any?

Got a sticker from the guys at Berry Motor Group, drove past them in my travels today so thought Id pop in and they gave me one, didnt even pay, thanks guys ;)

Basically, I want to know before I install them early next week if I should be concerned about any of those brands haha. Also, I note the water pump comes with its own papery sort of gasket, will that be enough or does it need a sealant as well?

Didn't realise there was a belt removal tool, usually a 1/2 breaker bar works fine if it's 1/2 or 3/8 etc.

I would use the anerobic sealant for the water pump myself. The only part I'd worry about is the HEPU water pump, GMB is Japanese made IIRC, and stock Volvo is a different one again...

Yeah I have a breaker bar but not in the correct size it seems, the tool wasnt that expensive from memory so eh haha.

And yeah I was tempted to go for a Genuine Volvo one. It came as part of a kit, the genuine Volvo kit was about $80 more, and didnt include any seals (which I need to fix my oil leak), so I thought I'd save the cash and get the seals included. In the FCP 'how to replace you 850/x70 timing belt' video they use a HEPU and they say its good. And if it isnt #yolo hahaha
