Ignition leads for 240

Anyone got any idea regarding ignition leads for my 84' 240 Estate? I bought some from Voluto on Ebay and even after supplying the vehicle VIN it was impossible to match the correct ones. The basic issue is that the Bougicord leads (P/N 272194 and 272193) are way too short. The guy I dealt with was very accommodating (thanks Josh) and gave a full refund including shipping but I'm still left hunting around, I'd be happy with NGK over the Top Gun ones I currently have but it seems hard to match parts numbers.

I tried Caffyns Volvo who are sending me over a new genuine timing belt but this is what they said "Have done some investigation into the ignition leads. The old part numbers were 270478 for the set of four leads and 1306008 for the king lead. These are no longer available and have now superceeded to the later version – 272193 and 1306696 which you have already tried. So I’m afraid I can’t be much help there.. I've chucked on a couple of photos which show the Bougicord debacle in terms of comparative length...(the blue leads are the Top Guns and the black are the Bougicords)

The wires are some white box brand
I bought them in bulk a while ago
They are quality made with the proper large spark plug ends like the volvo ones
7mm in size for the resistor wire
I also have proper bosch and ngk copper plugs and bosch brand caps and rotors

Sounds promising, might be worth my while getting some plugs for the old girl while I'm at it, I'm running NGK's at the moment. Maybe touch base when you get back?

Well Dauntless, I'm guessing we're looking at rather different applications ("Eliminator Series II leads: High Performance Street /Strip vehicles but primarily designed for racing applications burning Hi-octane and Methanol fuels") but interesting to know nonetheless.

I hear what you're saying Egads, but I guess I tend to take things at face value! All I'm really after is a decent set of leads (not sure if Top Gun are that great, I've had Bosch previously and they were average I guess) and would prefer the wound wire style than the carbon variety which seems prone to failure/degrading. The Bougicord leads would have suited me well had they been the correct length but it seems impossible to get correct fitment. I've heard reasonable claims about NGK leads but again it's a question of ensuring you get the correct match...

Key thing being that they only claim to fit the models that don't head mount the dizzy.

Tried them first up from Voluto and lengths were way too short, the boots are massive and I think intended for a turbo engine. The ones illustrated in the photos in my 1st post (2nd attempt at getting correct fitment) were just as short but with smaller boots and didn't come with coil lead. Could of sworn my distributor isn't head mounted??
