Ignition leads for 240

Where in aus are you? I have a few sets of proper wires which I've been asking $30 per set for (for reference I'm in western sydney)

All I'm really after is a decent set of leads (not sure if Top Gun are that great, I've had Bosch previously and they were average I guess) and would prefer the wound wire style than the carbon variety which seems prone to failure/degrading. The Bougicord leads would have suited me well had they been the correct length but it seems impossible to get correct fitment. I've heard reasonable claims about NGK leads but again it's a question of ensuring you get the correct match...

I had Top Gun 10mm in the past, they did the job, and lasted about 85,000km. I prefer Eagle though.

Mine are currently 8.5mm Top Gun and they seem to be doing the job but wanted to upgrade as I think I can get better performance/idling/running out of better leads. I've filched the Top Guns off my old 244 dizzy as one of the Bosch leads parted company with its boot when changing plugs (well actually it was terminal AND boot)....

Best running 240 I own is using a dirt cheap bosh cap, bosh rotor, $10 7mm leads and good Bosh Supper+ copper plugs

Good fuel + LH2.4 + clean injectors makes more difference then most anything else

Go to supercheap or similar and buy 7mm(?) bosch leads off the rack:

Yeah, I was going to say something similar to VolvoHordz. Don't know how fussy the OP is, but I just went to SCA and picked leads off the wall. Not sure what brand, but they were black - possibly Bosch, and it was for a 1985 240GLE. They seemed to work well for the few months I had the car and I got to select the right length by wandering in and out of the store a couple of times.

Good point, I noticed Auto 1 here in Hobart have Eagle for example in various lengths off the rack as well as an order-in scenario for complete set. I'm just not very impressed with the silicon/carbon leads I've used so if they're spiral wire cored I'd be happy. ICE have yet to get back to me with order details but I've supplied them with actual lengths to work with rather than have the set arrive and have to send them back (they quoted the coil lead in with the deal) not as cheap as some but they sound pretty impressive...

I've got to go into Supercheap and pick up some air control and radiator hoses that I had on order tomorrow so I'll certainly have a look, thanks...
