Took the old girl for a drive to a meet in Brisbane yesterday... approx 160km round trip. Drove perfectly all the way there. As I was driving in the driveway at my destination the engine cut out, I tried to start it and battery was flat. Jump started fine but seemed to have a slight miss. Drove down the back and parked. After looking around for a couple of hours I had to jump start it, miss was still there.
Progressively got worse and worse the whole way home. Underpowered, intermittent missing under load (idle is fine). Got it home ok despite thinking it wouldn't get there. Pulled up in the carport, battery was too flat to start the car.
I am hoping it is nothing more than a failed battery, perhaps the engine performance can be attributed to low voltage/ running solely on the alternator. Without testing I would assume the alternator is ok otherwise it probably wouldn't have made the trip home.
