Hi All just had a bit of fun today got rid of my IPD short ram intake I didn't like the pod or the look of pod filter actually in the engine bay it did make some good intake noises. IT was pretty simple to fit the 960MAF i bought a genuine used one out the States awhile ago I think it was like $50 all up delivered to Aus. You only want the housing I has to buy 5point security bits to remove my MAF unit but the 960 was torx
I purchased a complete 2002 C70 airbox for $120 from a me7 car. You really only just need the lid. The MAF hole size is perfect for the 960 MAF to go into the airbox 81mm or 3.11 inches as is the 960 MAF. I had to modify Eg remove 1 of the factory 960 tabs to rotate the MAF enough to rotate it so the plug could reach. I made crude spacer eg washers to space the mounting bolts to airbox to maf not pretty you could either cut down the existing screws or if i had a lathe I could machine up some correct spacers.
If time persists and I can get access to a lathe I will make some proper spacers and possibly machine of the outer lip on the maf to make the 3inch coupler fit more easily.
I needed to buy 5 point security bits T25 to be exact. I have torx security bits but there 6 point. To remove the MAF filament from my V70 housing. The 960 was normal security torx.
Also required was a silicone coupling i used 3 inch 90deg raceworks from Autopro and cut it up to suit as the Snaab intake pipe is 2.75 inches and the 960 MAF IS 3.15 inches. If I had a lathe I would of got rid of the other lip on the maf to make fittment more easier. My IPD intake has a 2.75 to 3 inch adapter in it so I used that on the snabb hard pipe end. It sounded hard but all on
Probably 3hrs to do all up with al the bits and beer breaks lol
I am very happy with the VAST ECU and Aarons from VAST ability to help and tune a Volvo 5cyl his problem solving via Email are very good. Thus has been an semi long journey particularly my fault working FIFO and having a young family. He is was very helpful and I fully recommended him highly. The car is amazingly transformed still vey drivable but actually has poke and sting now if you put your boot into it. I need to rent a dyno to do a final full pull for tuning purposes as I don't feel like doing it on WA roads lol I still need my licence
I hope some of this info will help anyone on the P80 journey to 5 cyl bliss that little bit easier
I had to cut this little plastic tab off the ME7 lid as it hits the coil simple task.
Standard v70 maf
I probably should of added the car is stock engine internals just your usual Volvo bolt ons. DW2OO Fuel pump, Bosch Green injectors, S60R manifold 16t machined to 18T turbo with a billet wheel. DO88 intercooler, 3 inch turbo back exhaust and a VAST ECU running wide band regulation and tuned by Aaron
