Been a while since an update, but progress has continued.
Bathurst weekend saw the towbar installed.

Last weekend saw the wing.

And this weekend saw a re-work of the radio wiring.
The radio had been changed in the past and someone had cracked out the side cutters and tape :((

I was going to embark on prewiring for a sub, but it was hot...

Nice bit of heat shrink there! I always forget one or two and solder the wires really nicely then discover no shrink on the line.....

Got more busy on the weekend,
Been trying to do a sub on a budget for a while.
Supercheap had some Sony Mono amps for $49 on a run out and I've had this 10" driver for years and never used it.
So knocked together a box on the weekend.
Now waiting for some power cable to arrive so I can connect it all up.

It's not going to win any awards, but its better than nothing ;)

Got busy on the weekend pulling through some cable to install this sub.
mounted the amp on the wall of the boot, looks nice and clean in the end.
Went rather heavy on the power cabling, figured if i want to upgrade to a larger sub later i dont want to re cable this.

I didnt really think about doing that,
I might be an option but would take a lot of work to seal up the cavity.
Might also flex a bit too much ?

Either way this seems to work ok for now, and the sub can quickly be removed to reclaim some space.

Yes , it would be hard to make a box to fit.
Dynamat in the cavity without a box , the STD speakers in doors use cavity but the back panel is bigger. I haven't thought of where my sub will be. Hope to find cheap enough bass engines to go under seats.

Thanks to @AshDVS‌.
He's been very kind in answering some of my annoying questions about springs over the last week or so.
I 'think' I've decided that I want to start doing some suspension work on Fringle.
Right now there is a bit of a strange clunk in the rear.
It sounds like something is actually loose in the boot area.
That is, it only appears when going from right to left, or left to right, R to R or L to L there is no noise...

The rear shocks are new ish Bilstein Black, the fronts are OEM (stamped as Volvo) which are painted black but are orange underneath (anyone know what these are?? and if they are good/junk?)
I'm sure all the bushings, seats tie-rods etc are shot or on their way out.

I was thinking i'd start with a kit from FCP that has all new bits and then go from there...

If they're genuine Volvo, they should be Sachs.
If it's never had the front end out before, the 'shit list' is likely to be (ignoring springs and shocks)
* LCAs
* swaybar links
* strut mounts
* spring seats
* Swaybar D bushes (maybe)
* tie rod ends (maybe)
* bump stops (maybe)

I'm pretty sure the seats would be toast, there is an unexpected harsh ride, its not race car, but it doesnt feel like a regular 850, my R wasnt this harsh.

I got in under the rear to have a look at the bushings on the weekend.
For the most part they look ok, no torn rubbers were visible

Also did an interior LED conversion.
foot well lights were replaced with these:

Front with these:

The rear interior LED's are the same base as the front but the polarity is reversed.
So you can either mess with the wiring (no thanks) or mess with the LED.
Or you can get a 'universal' LED with a fly lead that can be plugged in back wards.
So I got these:

The rear COB style LED was kinda large and needed some messing with to fit it, but not much:

Holy damn are they bright.

This is at night using a phone and no flash.

Those lights in the back!
Mine don't work ATM....
Must do this for my R.....
Had delusions of 'mood' lighting in and around with hidden orange or red ala BMW/Audi for passenger benefit , switchable.
There is an E36??? above console one that spots onto console in soft light , sounds cool..
