VADIS is what is need for the v40 1997. Although, supercheap was able to successfully pull all the info for my wagon with their Bosch Diag. scanner tool. They were able to check the SRS-ABS-GEARBOX-Engine Management systems. We selected the option (on the second go) of not using the Flenix System. Off it went checking everything. It reset the codes too with no problems. (that's all that was need thankfully). Not bad for $25 (approx.), the mechanic wanted $65, with not knowing if it worked.
just an option. VADIS is to my understand the first software package (VADIS 2005 being the last release that was able to connect to cars via a VCT-2000 [Which is worth about $1500usd on ebay for an OEM one.. if you can find them.) .
