I have many photos of the show and will upload them in the next day or so. It was probably the best Nationals we've done yet, the weather and location ended up being great and the turnout was the biggest on record with I believe 53 cars total (I have to double check as we had a couple of last minute additions and changes of vehicle).
Best in Show, sponsored by Berry Motor Group, went to Peer Skaarup who the Queensland crowd will probably know as the owner of GLT Volvo in Capalaba, and his Amazon wagon.
@pigdog won Best Wagon
In the battle of GT v R there was a resounding win for the GTs with Rod Wilson's 242GT taking the crown
Best Modified went to Ken Besgrove's LS3-swapped 240
The Defect Notice, sponsored by RPM Dubbo (@Inski) went to Jared Wilson, as is tradition ? this is a popular choice vote so until someone comes up with an even more immaculately dialled in rat rod aesthetic I think you have to just hope he can't make it to the shows.
Best Vintage Volvo, which was sponsored by Phoenix eVolv, went to Justine O'Connell and her PV544
Best 240 or 260, sponsored by DVS Performance Parts (@AshDVS) , went to Torben Toft's 242GT
Best 3/4/7/9 went to @DCW242 and his fresh 760GLE
Best 850 or S/V/C70 (aka the P80 trophy), sponsored by FCP Euro, went to @Jamest5r_ and his 1995 850 T-5R wagon
Best Modern Volvo (C30, x40, V50, x60, S80) went to Ben Hon and his 2011 C30 R-Design
Our Bowden's Own prize packs went to @Ansett747 | Jonathan, Konrad Zemetis, and Grant Bond
The cable ties award which is awarded very inconsistently and sometimes not at all, for Volvos that appear to run on hopes and dreams, went to Neill @Inski for his HERCULEAN efforts to get his GT to Nationals from Dubbo, even after blowing the rear main seal on Thursday evening. The dedication!
Thanks to everyone who made it, and don't worry photos will be forthcoming, I just need a day to get back home and process them.
