I don't know much about these but that sounds like the culprit.....The intake side.
To me sometimes the movement noises have a ring to them that transfer to the nasty rattles
funny how kids know when you are busy :)

@stew I know this is an old thread but did you ever solve the issue you describe here? My v70R is of similar age and has exactly the same symptoms. Would really appreciate your help / advice - cheers
