I've been away for the weekend but got back with a little bit of time to have a tinker in the shed.
One of the common issues with a P80 wagon is the pesky tailgate rattle. Often, the tailgate trim is the culprit but it can also be the stiker either needing adjustment or being worn. The good thing though is that a replacement is pretty cheap, either from us or via your dealer. p/n: 9485477.
So, while I'm tearing through the removal of trim in the back of the car, I figured I'd replace the striker. The new/update part is a little different to the original but fits fine and now my tailgate closes better.
New vs old -
And in place (in case you were wondering where it actually goes!) -
I've been cleaning up some of the charcoal parts, getting ready to re-fit them all, etc. I really liked the cargo basket net things that this car came with so I began drilling holes in the cargo area trim that came out of the 850R to fit them to.
So, these guys (below), will be making a reappearance -
So far, I've done the LH side, which still needs a final scrub -
I'll leave them out until it's back from bodywork. It'll no doubt make life easier to not have these present when they remove the cargo area glass.
More substantial updates coming in the next couple of weeks.
