Spent a bit more time on it this weekend, largely just getting it ready to head off to the panel beaters for them to have a look at on Tuesday.
Got a front wheel on it too so that I could have a look and re-check clearances, etc. the front wheels being 18x8 and ET42 will rub on the guard liners at full lock (more so than a 17x7 ET43 does with a 215/45/17 tyre) but I'll mitigate that a little by fitting the C70 steering stops (I think, from memory, these are blue) when I do the front suspension and swap the LCAs over.
Wheels on -
Muflaps, skirts, windscreen washer nozzles removed, almost ready for paint (still need to remove the roof rails) -
Also decided to make up a tailgate 'pull handle' - My Octavia RS has one and since the tailgate trim I'm using doesn't have the internal latch hole, this is a novel way to make that all look less bland.
Fitted a rivnut to the inner tailgate frame and fitted a strap -
Modified the trim to have the strap accessible/usable -
And since all the kool kids are doing Youtube channels these days, I figured I'd teach myself something and do one of my own. Using the pull strap fitting as the focus of it, makes it short and helped me learn to edit things.
Next steps are to get a selfie-stick thingo, and a little tripod. I used a Samsung Galaxy S9 for the video. If there's interest in this sort of thing, I might even invest in a GoPro and a hat-mount and perhaps even a mic and a decent camera.
