I just bought a 960 with a genuine Volvo alarm that has been retrofitted, it has a glass break sensor that plugs into a very similar harness coming out of the relay, the plug on the relay looks the same but the short adapter is different. My guess is the relays are all the same, but different adapter harnesses plug in depending on what accessories are added to the alarm. I don't know what that harness is for but it will probably be some sort of additional security option,

Sorry I thought you were after info on what it was for not trying to buy one. I don't have any spare but I know a few people who might, I'll ask around.

I've never seen these on Aus delivered 850s, which may be why no one has commented.

Most of the alarms were dealer fitted aftermarket and had a clear plastic jumper board instead of the factory relay.

Reminds me of the remote locking system fob and control box on my 855R having come from a company in Sydney as when it failed it went back to them back in the day. I had a good workshop guy back then who looked into it and had experience of volvo intracasys too. You may as well make up a new set of plug and socket from aftermarket.

down by the bonnet release behind the panel I have the 2 connections floating around and always didn't know what they are for . If you change to the double realy with the plug on top that is where these wires come into play as in the first picture ?

Yeah but like the red flashing light on the dash, none of these functions were used on Australian alarm systems. You will probably have to source them from the uk.

Strange about the red led on the dash top as the 850 I had for parts had the led , that is on mine now
