  • Help identify steering shaft

Hi all...looking to help somebody identify this steering shaft. They think it's Volvo. Doesn't look like 240 or 164. Ideas?

    Thanks James. You may be correct...Did the early manual rack 240s have a rubber disk coupling at the top, or 2 uni joints (one top and one bottom). My later 240s including an 81 with manual steering had a uni at top and bottom. I'd have a look at my 77 245L but I just heaped a bunch of stuff onto the bonnet and I couldn't be bothered moving it all!

    It has u-joints as well as this other joint

    Thanks @jamesinc I think the guy who sent me the pic may have modified the top end so it just has a splined T-joint attached to the rubber coupler thing, so I believe that explains it. My 79 had the rubber inner mould shaft, so I'm guessing this solid style shaft was pre-79...
