1989 240 Radiator cap

1989 240 running a B230F... I believe I need a 1.5 bar cap.

There are two caps available, 1 bar (black) and 1.5 bar (green), and sometimes you also see a 75kPa cap (also black usually).

In any case, the 1 bar cap is also fine to run and many argue the lower system pressure improves cooling system longevity. I usually run 1 bar caps.

They're 11psi (75kpa) for black and 22psi (150kpa) for the grey and green caps.

I always change to the black caps on all models for as James said, the hoses, radiator, water pump, heater core, heater tap, and their connections will last longer at lower pressure

I have a brand new 75kpa cap for sale if you're interested in buying it

I did. $60 is pretty steep.

Found what I need on ezi autoparts for $26 including shipping.

It was $50 (which is how much a genuine cap costs) and $9 for postage
