Ah gotcha. In that case disregard anything abs-ee. What's the rear abs sensor look like out of interest?
240 diff

This is the sender I'm looking for.
Not 100% sure what year they changed to that sender style, but if you look at the speedometer face in the car the diff is in, the later ones with more pulses like that one pictured have a speedometer number something like k24364 (I made up that number...but it's basically pulses per km). The earlier electronic ones 1986 to pre-abs were something like k6241 pulses per km. I think the change-over might have been in about 1990. Just some more info if somebody has a car with a diff in it and they offer it to you, something to check.

Yeah the above is 93 and I know a 92 I had was the same. They also both had the speedo designation you've noted.
My suspicion is it's from the rear ends with the aluminium cover plate from the last two or three years of 240ness.

Interesting. I have a 91 240GLE wagon...will have to have a look at the speedometer in that one. It has the stamped steel diff cover...I know they had ABS in about 1990-1993 models so maybe the change-over was when they changed to the flush glass in the wagon tailgate in 1990? Will have a look if I remember and let you know what my 91 has. The 92 and 93 parts car wagons I have definitely have the later speedometer and aluminium diff cover, same as the 93 sedan I wrecked, so we can pretty much confirm 92-93 for the later sender style. :)
i will have some late stuff 1990 onward

Great I'll keep that in mind cheers. I'm supposed to be driving the rangie back from Tas to Qld late August so if nothing local pops up I reckon that's a goer.
OK update! The 91 240 wagon has a k6091 speedometer. What this indicates is only the very late (92?? and 93) 240s got the higher pulse speedometer tone ring in Oz...as far as I can tell.
I have a 92 240 parts car in Coffs Harbour. Not sure if it's quite what you're looking for though.
