jamesinc I'm looking for a TRW steering rack from a 240. I don't mind about the condition, tie rods, etc, as long as the piston isn't damaged/rusting.Can offer a manual rack in exchange if you're interested.
Slowbrick carnut222 Recently removed from 1992 240 wagon. No apparent leaks. $100 pick up Daylesford VIC. Does not include steering shaft. Likely needs new tie rods/ends. I have several 240 racks available take your pick.https://cdn.ozvolvo.org/uploads/520/HDDQOMN7OEJD.jpegLooks like there is one here.

carnut222 I stand corrected - it is TRW according to https://people.physics.anu.edu.au/~amh110/STEERING/steering_camgears_trw.htm
carnut222 Further the one I have for sale has a "96" date stamp so must have been replaced in the car somewhere along the way.
carnut222 I could chuck it in Bob's trailer/ute and he could bring it up to Wollongong in early Sep. if you're interested. :)
jamesinc @carnut222 I'd prefer to sort mine out sooner than that, can I sleep on it for a few days and see if I can't find one closer?
carnut222 jamesinc @carnut222 I'd prefer to sort mine out sooner than that, can I sleep on it for a few days and see if I can't find one closer? No prob. This one felt like it was super-over-boosted when in the car - not sure what could cause that? How do the racks know how much boost to provide?

jamesinc @Slowbrick what's wrong with your rack? I'm having everything rebuilt anyway, I just need a rack that has no rust on it.@carnut222 I've never heard of anyone adjusting it. I had a look around and it doesn't seem like it can be adjusted (not easily, anyway).

It donated it rack as a core for the 245 for an exchange rack. Also I think you can adjust the level of assistance, i remember reading something on cleanflametrap ages ago about adjusting the assist bias via some adjustment bolt or something behind the plastic bung.
